Yup, you heard me right. Shifra is here! Her bus was an hour early (2:00pm), which was awesome and gave her more time to unpack and get ready for Shabbos. She is just as sweet as can be, and I feel very lucky that we found her.
In order to make her feel more at home, I made home-made pierogies for dinner. Because we eat fleishig on Shabbos, I needed to find a non-dairy recipe. Which I did, as you can see by the link to the recipe. It was a patchkerai, as my mother would say, and my forearms will never be the same again (from kneading the dough). But, I'm hoping they'll be worth it. I can't wait to see the look on her face when I serve home-made semi-authentic Polish pierogies. :-) Yummmm...
