Not Interested

I tried giving the twins banana pieces (Baby-Led Weaning style) and they just were not interested. They wouldn't even look at the banana in front of them. They would look anywhere else but down...and they didn't even try to touch it or anything. It was quite disappointing, but I guess it just means we have to keep trying! Any tips, Molly??

  1. A lot of times it takes 3 or 4 or even more introductions of something to get munchkins to try something new. Good luck and happy ICLW.

  2. No tips - maybe distract them? "Look over there!" and then have them taste the food when they look away. They'll either love it - or spit it out...

  3. Nothing special--just try again and remember not to worry. Go read www.babybanana.biz. From the beginning.

  4. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Some kids are interested right away, and others don't care. It took Alex until he was about 8 1/2 months to really get into solids. But he eats like a horse now! They all have their own timetables. Avocado is another great first food!

  5. Just keep trying. At first it will be mostly playing and smashing it into the table but eventually they get it.

  6. I don't mean to steal your post but I have a question too and since no one reads my bog I think I have a better chance of getting answered here.

I gave Keelin banana pieces but when she picked it up she couldn't figure out where it went (it was in the plam of her hand), I think I made it too small. I am super worried about her chocking, how big can you make the pieces????
