Cord Blood Banking
Another thing we decided this week was to bank our babies' cord blood. After getting quotes from all over and doing lots of research, we decided to go with Cryo-Cell. Not only did they give us the best twin pricing (and we looked at about 10 different places with costs anywhere from $2400 to $3800 total), but they are also very well known, have the best credentials of everywhere I looked, and have been around the longest. If cord blood banking is something you're thinking about doing, feel free to ask me any questions you may have. And if you're considering Cryo-Cell, let me know and I can put you in touch with the lovely nurse who gave me awesome discounts.:-)

Are you banking the blood for yourselves, or for a "public" bank that can be used for anyone? Never known anyone to do it...I commend you for your choice! :)
ReplyDeleteGood for you. I have always wondered about doing this.
ReplyDeletePublic banks don't generally make you pay to use them. I'm banking it for us. Each baby is a perfect match for his/herself and is a possible match for my husband, his family, my family, and me. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you posted about this. Up til recently my husband and I wanted to do this...but our OB said it was super expensive for twins...I thought it was around 2k for each twin. Do you mind me asking how much you end up paying for both? I had no idea they had twin discounts. But am so happy to hear they do!
ReplyDeleteI think that's a really smart idea. I've always wondered if one day that will be mainstream. Congrats on your twins!
ReplyDeleteICLW.
That is a great idea. We were thinking about it but I never looked into it in time. I think it's a worthwhile investment, hope you never need to use it though! :)
ReplyDeleteTake care
