Who's That Handsome Devil?

My mother-in-law and sister-in-law are in town for the holiday of Pesach. My mother-in-law is an expert at cutting hair (since she used to cut all of her boys' hair when they were little), so we decided that we would forego a trip to the barber (and the $$ that goes along with it) and have her cut Dovid's precious locks. I must say it turned out perfectly, although I think he could still go a hair (pun intended) shorter in some places. I was actually shocked at how much hair Dovid actually has! I was convinced he would look like he had bald spots once his hair got trimmed to a boyish haircut, and he just looks like a normal boy with normal hair!! He looks so grown up with his new hairdo, and of course he still looks just like Daddy, since he has the same haircut that he did when he was a little boy. Enjoy!

Candles and Tzitzes

The twins turned three today...well, it's their Hebrew birthday. So that means that Jewishly they are three. That's actually a REALLY big deal. It means that Dovid now gets to wear a kippa (aka yarmulke) and tzitzes, and Chana gets to light Shabbos candles every week. It also means that Chana only wears skirts/dresses now, just like her mommy! Here are some pictures from the big event.

We're going to take pictures of Chana lighting her Shabbos candles (before Shabbos actually starts, of course) so we'll post those later on, and the twins have a birthday parting on Sunday. At that birthday party, also called an upsherin for Dovid, Dovid will get his first haircut. Yikes!!! I love those curls and will miss them. :-(

Pictures!

My sister and brother-in-law came for a visit this weekend, so of course there are pictures! We had so much fun visiting the Children's Museum with everyone. Dovid enjoyed "driving" the school bus and Chana LOVES playing with the huge water tables. Tzipora's favorite place is the small room just for babies. She and Shmuel got in some serious play time there before I took over for him. All in all it was a great time!

Pictures and Stuff

First, the stuff. Tzipora waved at me for the first time today!! It was super cute. I waved at her and she waved back. I don't think the twins were doing it until well past their first birthday, so she's far ahead of them.

Dovid knows his left from his right. Twice now he's been holding one of my hands and then asked for the other one. For example I try to hold him with my right hand and he goes "no, I want to hold your left hand!" It's super adorable and shocking that he knows this kind of thing already.

My sister and brother-in-law came for a visit this weekend, so of course a ton of pictures were taken. Here are two slideshows of pictures taken by them. The eighth picture in the second slideshow is one of Dovid that looks like it could've been a picture of Shmuel taken as a little boy. In fact, I have a picture of Shmuel that looks almost exactly like it! It's a bit creepy... Enjoy!

Kid Pictures

Whenever my sister and brother-in-law come to visit, they always take tons of amazing pictures of the kids. I feel completely lazy in that I rarely ever take pictures of them, but anyway... Here's the album of select pictures from the visit, for those of you who don't read my brother-in-law's blog.

Before you enjoy these pictures, I just have to say that the second picture in the album took my breath away. Why, you might ask? Because my son is my husband's identical twin, apparently... Seriously, I need to scan and upload some of my hubby's pics from when he was a little boy and you'll do a double take as well.

Cutest Baby Ever

I finally figured out the reason Tzipora had been activating the pull cord on her bouncy seat with her feet rather than her hands. (You'll see what I mean in the pictures below...it's a ring attached to a lion that plays music when you pull the ring.) Anyway, this is something Dovid had figured out - to use his hands to pull the cord - when he was like 4 months old, and I realized that Tzipora just couldn't reach because the bar had been bent out of shape a bit. I knew that the cords looked really far away, but I hadn't realized that the bar was bent out of shape and could be moved back. So I bent it back, and BOY WAS SHE HAPPY ABOUT IT!! :-) Now she can reach with her hands, which she did immediately. You can see below that I have the cutest baby in the whole world...and I'm not biased one bit. (Click on each picture for a larger version)

Holding the Baby

The twins each got to hold Tzipora for the first time tonight. Chana was standing by the baby swing (with Tzipora in it) and looked like she really wanted to hold her, so I asked her if she wanted to. Of course she says "yeah!" So I put Chana in our big, black swivel office chair and handed her the baby. We helped her a little bit with the head, of course. After a few minutes, Tzipora started crying because she was hungry, so I took her back from Chana. Well, Chana then threw a FIT! She wanted to keep holding the baby. (This is in great contrast to the first time my sister held me...) Anyway, I left to feed the baby. When I returned with the baby post-feed, Chana took one look at me and climbed right back into the office chair for another go. It was the cutest thing EVER! Luckily, I was ready for this and grabbed the camera. So here are some pics of Chana & Dovid holding Tzipora. (Please excuse Chana's dirty face...she still had lunch leftovers plastered all over)

Here Chana is saying "hi Doora" and waving at her.

Chana is showing Tzipora where her eyes are and saying "eyes"

Chana was upset because Dovid had been pulling on her feet.  That's why she doesn't look happy in this one and the next one.  It's not because she wasn't enjoying the baby.

Chana looks all pleased with herself.  Meanwhile, Dovid is poking out the babies eyes.  Oops!  (Really, Dovid wanted it to be his turn and was trying to pick her up.)

I just love the look that Dovid has on his face in these pics.  Pure love.

Dovid is rubbing her head in this one

And here Dovid is beeping her nose and saying "beep"

And with that, I wish you all a good night!

Whooops!

Wow...it's been over two weeks since my last update. I'm really falling down on the job here!! In any case, no news is good news (for the most part). My pregnancy is progressing as normally as in a text book, which is fantastic. I love my midwives almost as much as I love my husband. lol And the twins are as adorable as ever.

My mom, her boyfriend, my sister, brother-in-law and their foster son all came to visit this past weekend. We had a great time hanging out and playing with all of the kids. Then this morning Chana woke up not feeling so great, but since she had a normal temperature I sent her to day care anyways. Well, she then developed a temperature so I had to pick her up early. Luckily I was able to get some Tylenol into her, and she's now happily eating matzo, talking and smiling like my normal, happy girl.

Both Chana and Dovid have been saying more words lately, and I really need to update their word list. Chana is doing so well with imitating new words...it's just incredible. They both had their 6 month Early Intervention evaluation last week, and both passed in all areas except for eating/self care/toileting. In some areas they gained more than just 6 months worth of development, which is fantastic. I'll go more in depth on the results when I get a copy of them from Early Intervention later this week.

I'll do my best to update you after my midwife appointment on Thursday and maybe get a new belly pic up too. :-) In the meantime, enjoy these pictures of the twins taken by my sister and brother-in-law this past weekend.

Pictures!

I finally figured out how to take awesome pictures of the twins...I just needed to change the shutter speed on my camera and now there's no more blurry photos! Enjoy!! Oh, and I got an A in Biology 2!!!! So I'm still at a 4.0 and going strong.

So Very Sad

I have some very sad news. My sister-in-law's (Shmuel's sister) husband passed away this morning in Israel. He just had his 43rd birthday a week or so ago, and it happened very suddenly. He wasn't sick, to my knowledge, so we are all shocked and devastated. It's such an incredible tragedy and my heart is breaking for Rebecca (my sister-in-law). She asked me today if I would please please please post photos of the twins for her to see, because it would make her feel better. So, these are pictures from Purim, which was yesterday, so Beh will have something to make her smile. I know that Jake ז"ל (her deceased husband) loved the twins very much and really enjoyed Skyping with them, so he would have also smiled seeing these.

Bleeeh

Whee!

What are you doing Mom?

Yum...crib rails are delicious!

AHHHH!

Hey, Dovid...you opened the velcro on my costume. Oops!

I love stacking rings.

I love the stacker even better!

Hey, what's down there?

Hiya

Grin!!

Hmmm...

I'm really handsome.

Smile!

That's all for now, and I hope that it put a smile on your face.

Best Hubby

The other day Shmuel called me as I was grocery shopping. I missed the call, so it went to voicemail. When I checked the message, what do you think I heard? Chana and Dovid laughing at each other. After about 30 seconds of this Shmuel says "I thought you would like to hear your children laughing. I hope it makes you smile!" Now tell me, isn't that the sweetest thing you've ever heard???? :-) *sigh* So awesome

Anyways, Dovid is still getting his tooth. I can see it peeking through his gum. Chana, on the other hand, has 6 teeth now (4 on top and 2 on the bottom). They are just so adorable!

And now, I know you've been dying for some recent photos, so here goes:

First are 3 photos of Dovid from 1/18

Next are some photos taken on our plane ride to Baltimore. You'll notice that both twins are sleeping. Yay! :-)

In this first one you can see Ziva and Shmuel holding Dovid and Chana (respectively)

Next you can see Ziva holding Dovid

And here are two pics of Chana sleeping peacefully in Daddy's arms

Now I have some cute photos I took of the twins right before bed on 2/3

I like to call this one "I can't see where I'm going!!"

And here is Ziva holding Chana (who can now see...a little bit)

And finally, here are two pics I took before bedtime on 2/10. Both twins are wearing bows made by Future Mama.

Chana is giving Dovid a look that says "You look wonderful dahling!"

And here Dovid is saying "thank you" back.

ENJOY!!
