Thank you for all of the wonderful comments and suggestions in my last post! I decided to go ahead and "do it." Hopefully my OB won't find out... hehe :-)
Sorry for the lack of posts, but life around here is nuts. I barely have time to check my email or do anything else, so blog posts get put way down on the priority list. :-(
The twins are doing very well, but I'm terrified for the day when there's no one here for me to call to when both are screaming at once or I need extra help. Yikes! They're both gaining weight well, and the fenugreek that I'm taking seems to be helping my milk supply. My biggest issue is generally with the evening feedings when I've been feeding them almost non-stop all day long. By that point, there's no milk left and my nipples start to itch from being nibbled on so much. On the days when they feed less often during the day, then I don't generally have that problem. I also can't wean them off of the nipple shields. My son has such a strong suck that I can only nurse him for a minute or two before the pain is too much for me. He has trouble with the latch--he gets on fine and then tries to slide down the nipple so he doesn't have as much in his mouth. OUUUUCH! My daughter flat out refuses to suck at all if I'm not wearing the nipple shield. She'll pull off and then start crying. *sigh*
I splurged and bought a Wii Fit the other day. I'm really looking forward to working out with it, becuase this belly bulge has got to go! I'm about 60 lbs over my ideal weight, even though I don't look it. I'm going to put a weight loss ticker on my blog so you guys will keep me honest. :-) And, in case you were wondering, I am 4' 10.5" tall, so 100 lbs IS my ideal weight...
LOLOL! Alright! Sunday Action! :)
ReplyDeleteCan't have much to add on the lactation issues front....never been that far. :(
What's the problem? Two babies taking up too much time to make sure your bloggy friends are also taken care! :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you and the kiddos are adjusting...and yee haw for the "Sunday Funday"....
I am sorry you are uncomfortable.
ReplyDeleteBut everyone tells me breast feeding helps with weight loss so at least there is a silver lining.
I've heard a lot of good things about Wii Fit. Anything that you enjoy that gets you up and moving is definitely a great thing.
ReplyDeleteGood luck chickie! The losing weight is a tough one...and I haven't even had a baby! :)
ReplyDeleteI have a wii fit also, but the excersise part is okay. I think they are coming out with a better exercise 'game'. I have "Personal Coach" or something like that, and I really like it.
GOOD LUCK!!!
oh, and happy ICLW!!!
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with jumping ahead!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the Wii Fit, I know a girl at my work that has lost a lot of weight using it.
ReplyDeleteWow - I have to say you're a better woman than I am to post your ticker for the world to see. I guess I figure the world sees enough of my rear end to know that it's a work in progress. LOL.
ReplyDeleteThe breast feeding definitely will help but I hope you enjoy your Wii.

LOVE my Wii Fit, hope you enjoy yours! :)

a lactation consultant can probably help you with the shield issue. I had to use those for a while. It seemed so surreal.
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate to the fear of not having help. Though I don't have twins, it was scary to face the first night without help with a husband with a broken leg and a newborn. But, I took a deep breath and had all leave the other night. It wasn't horrible. Hopefully it wont be too terrible. But it was SCARY!!
ReplyDeletebreastfeeding sounds hard...especially with twins!! Way to go for doing it!

ReplyDeleteSeriously...that seems fair.

I have the Wii Fit but don't really use it. I just started the 30 day shreds video (Gillian Michaels from the biggest loser) and I really like that and can see a difference on the weeks when I actually do the video. :-)
ReplyDeletegood luck with the weight loss and have fun with the DH!!
they are ADORABLE. And the wii fit is tons of fun. :)
