Elana Kahn, CD(DONA)

Do you know what those letters mean? It means I am officially certified as a DONA birth doula!! I got the call yesterday afternoon from the woman who was reviewing my application, and it is a done deal. I get the letters after my name, I get the certificate, and I can finally give out my business cards. YAY! I have one more birth this month and then my next isn't until September. So far I have attended 11 births, so with this next birth I will have averaged exactly 1 birth a month for the past year, even though over half of these births were done in the last 4 months. I absolutely love this job...it is more rewarding than anything I have ever done before, and I look forward to each and every birth I attend. I cannot wait until I become a midwife and have the opportunity to attend births every day. Life is so good.
