Standing Up

I had I won a Flip video camera last December and left it brand new in the box the entire year. After yesterday's super blurry video taken by my cell phone, I decided to get it out of the box. I have a really nice video camera that my mom gave to me, but at the moment I'm not sure where the battery charger is...gotta find that. In the mean time, now I have a really small, simple video camera that I can hold in one hand and has no extra pieces to lose.

Anyway, I wanted to see if I could catch a video of Tzipora getting herself up to a stand, and I did! Enjoy.

Tzipora Cruising!

Tzipora will be turning one in less than a week, and she *just* figured out how to pull herself to a stand. This is the second time I've seen her do it, and right after she stood up her toy scootched forward, and she just went with it. She'll be walking before I know it. YIKES!

Twins and Shoes

My kids are the funniest, cutest kids around. The preface to this movie is that Dovid was asking Chana to take off his socks and shoes. She got one shoe off and then left the room. Dovid was just sitting, waiting for her to come back and finish the job. I knew this was going to be a "Kodak Moment," so I taped and was not disappointed. This video was taken on my phone, so it's not the best quality, but I know you'll like it anyway. Enjoy!

Random Cuteness

The twins were just being themselves, and I wanted to capture it on video. Dovid decided he wanted to clean, and Chana wanted to go outside. :-) Enjoy!

No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed!

I'm so sorry I've been neglecting my blog. Life around here is nuts, and I can never really find much to say other than "the twins are adorable and talking up a storm." In any case, tonight they were being exceptionally cute right after dinner, so I made a little video. Sorry it cuts off the end of the ABC's, but my camera ran out of memory card space. *ugh* Enjoy! (P.S. This video is especially for Auntie Beh to persuade her to come visit ASAP!)

The Twinners and the ABCs

The twins are getting better and better at singing the ABCs. Sure, they skip letters (A, B, C, G, H, I, J, P, etc.), but it's super adorable anyway. (They can also count to five...and possibly even to ten, but I didn't catch that on camera.) Anyways, here are my somewhat successful attempts at getting them to sing the ABCs. I'm going to have to keep trying, because I know they can say almost the whole last few lines (Now I know my ABCs...), but it didn't make it on camera. This also documents more of Chana talking on not one but TWO phones (at the same time). It's super adorable. Enjoy!

Chana and her Cell Phone

The twins received a toy phone as a gift recently, and Chana LOVES it. She will take objects that aren't even meant to be a phone and pretend they are - talking into it and such. She does it even more with this since it's actually supposed to be a phone. I wasn't able to edit the video, but it's a short one. The beginning is her talking on the phone, then she's doing the buckles on her booster seat (another favorite pastime.) The "tick tock" type sound is Tzipora's swing, and you can see her swinging in and out of the picture. Enjoy!

5 Years

Five years ago today I met my husband. It's not the exact date (that was yesterday), but we met on the Friday just after Thanksgiving, so that's when we celebrate. Our yearly tradition is to have a Shabbos meal at the friend's house where we met. For several years they were out of town for Thanksgiving weekend, so we had to push it off until the next week, but this year they are here! We met at the Friday night meal, and that's when we'll be going (ie tonight). Our first date was the Sunday after we met (November 27), but with Shmuel working every Sunday there isn't any way we can go out to celebrate then.

I can hardly believe that it's been five years. The years have literally flown by, and they've been some of the best years I've ever had (if not the best). We have so much to be thankful for, and it's very appropriate that the anniversary of our meeting (and first date) happens just after Thanksgiving. It's also just one week until the magical 35 weeks and 1 day. Wheeeee!

The twins are doing well, too. They are adding words to their vocabulary all the time, and I'm just too lazy to update their word pages here. :-) Dovid calls everything "that" and loves to say "no". Both of them use the word "mine" a lot, even though I thought that was a two-year-old thing. haha Dovid has also figured out how to clip himself into his booster seat and will do this even when it's not meal time. The problem is that he doesn't know how to undo the buckles, so he gets upset once he's clipped in and wants to keep playing with the buckles.

And now, for your enjoyment, here is a video clip from play time a few days ago. They are playing with Daddy's kippa, which they really enjoy (especially since Daddy has to then cover his head with another object).

Birthday Present

I've been sooo bad about posting. Sorry about that! The twins had an evaluation with speech and audiology. The audiologist says that both of them hear perfectly. The speech person says that they're both at a 9-10 month level of cognition/understanding language, so of course they can't talk. You can't talk about things you don't understand, and you understand a lot more than you can talk about. Think of it like this, when you learn a second language it's a lot easier to understand what someone is saying than to actually speak, right? It's the same with babies. She said that we need to have Early Intervention come for an hour of therapy once a week for EACH of the twins. (So that's really two hours a week) That's the minimum...she'd love for more. She also wants to see Dovid in two weeks for a feeding evaluation because he's a skinny boy that hates eating. That should be fun. :-)

Now then, today is Auntie Beh's birthday! I'm not going to tell you how old she is today because she'd probably kill me. Anyway, in honor of Auntie Beh's birthday, I present to you a video I like to call "Dovid and the Mailbox". This was taped today! He received the mailbox from Grandma Peggy (that's my mom) as a present the last time she was in town a few weeks ago, and he *just* learned how to use it this week. This was a huge fine motor skill success. Enjoy!

We Got It!

Thanks to Children's Hospital of Boston, Chana, Dovid & I all got our H1N1 flu vaccines today!!!! Let me tell you...CHoB is amazing. They called my phone around 2pm with an automated message saying that there is a clinic going on RIGHT NOW that will end at 4pm. Well, you have never seen a woman move so fast. The twins were playing on the floor, and I scooped them up, put them into snow suits, grabbed the diaper bag, made sure it had everything we might need, grabbed my purse and ran out the door. We got there at precisely 2:35pm. Not bad, eh? We walked in the door and there was a short line. We waited approx 5 minutes before they registered us. Immediately thereafter they took us straight into a room and got us started. I asked if I might also get a vaccine and the lady (who already knew the twins were 8 1/2 months) said "You just tell me they're under 6 months and it's no problem *wink*". Very cool. The twins were SOOOO good. Dovid flinched and made a sad face, but didn't even cry. Chana cried, of course. But got over it way faster than any of her other routine vaccinations. I didn't flinch at all. :-) We were in and out in less than an hour...and that included time parking (which takes like 5 mins at least to find a spot, then another 5 to get them out of the car and then another 3 to walk to the clinic), waiting and getting the shots, waiting after the shots to make sure no one was allergic, then paying for parking. I give CHoB an A+ on just being super.

Now, without further ado, what you've all been waiting for....another video! Well, I have two videos. The first is one of Chana crawling (sort of) and the other is Dovid crawling. These were both taken earlier today before we got the call about the H1N1 clinic. Enjoy!!

I'm a Movie Producer

Well, at least for the twins I am. I finally got out the video camera my mom bought us and caught the twins giggling on camera. Unfortunately every time they looked at me, they stopped laughing. I edited out those parts so all you see are the giggles. Basically, Dovid was cracking up at Chana making screetchy noises. So Chana is the one you hear screetching and Dovid is laughing...although I believe Chana gets in a few giggles too. Enjoy!!
